Friends or Not...

I have several friends of the mommy type. I am sure they would be willing to help me out if I needed it and some actually have. Lately though I just feel like I am being used as the neighborhood babysitter. Yesterday I had two moms use me as their backup in case they couldn't make it to the school in time to pick up their kids. One mom made the arrangement on Sunday and she actually made it to school on time. The other called at 10:55, school gets out at 11:30. No big deal right. Except she didn't come pick her kid up until 3:00 p.m. I know she got in a bind with car repairs and such, but really, 3 1/2 hours! I love this friend dearly, but I am always bailing her out. I watch her kids all day while she goes on vacation and I help her a lot. I've only asked her for help a few times, and when it's convenient she does help. I think I'm tired. Did I also mention that a few weeks ago I had 4 neighbors just dump their kids off to play on a Saturday. Ben and I were outside with the kids and they just sent their kids over to play. Really? I would really like to move about now. I need some real friends, not just the kind that are needy.

Don't you hate it when...

You've put in a million hours at work trying to help somebody out...then they ask you, very casually, what you're doing on Saturday? Only to try and trap you into working for them on the weekend. Forget it man! You can't have any of my precious Saturday time. Quick...got to think of a plausible excuse. I should always have one ready to throw out there when I need it. Blast! Need to be quicker on my feet. Um...I'm "washing my hair", my "dog ate my weekend". Got any good ideas?

An outlet for steam...

You know those man-hole covers on the city streets? Well, when things get backed-up, they release steam. So here, is a safe environment for some of us to let off a little steam of our own. Please remain annonymous, no names, no places, nothing too specific. Just a place to vent that undesirable steam, to prevent a blow-up!
